About OptiFluides
OptiFluides is a consultancy specializing in fluid mechanics.
We help industry and academia solve technical problems related to fluid flow, through numerical modeling (Computational Fluid Dynamics or CFD) as well as experimental measurements.
We are involved in a wide range of technical projects in various sectors: energy and environment, hydraulics, health and chemistry. As a result, our customers are just as diverse: many large corporations, such as EDF, CNR, Safran or General Electric, but also SMEs looking for specific skills.
Founded in 2011, OptiFluides is a company made up of 5 engineers and PhDs, and we place the utmost importance on technical expertise and the quality of our work. We strive to create a professional atmosphere that fosters collaboration and individual responsibility, in the management of projects and working time, based on a strong sense of belonging.
Missions
As an R&D engineer intern in Fluid Mechanics, you will support the team in carrying out Fluid Mechanics projects and studies. In particular, this involves:
- Meshing (construction of the fluid domain from plans or CAD, meshing adapted to the flow to be solved),
- Simulations (implementation of the solver, choice of suitable physics and models, boundary conditions, launch of calculations, validation of convergence, analysis of results, drafting of deliverables),
- Development of models and numerical methods.
The various stages of the internship will include:
- Training and familiarization with the software, work environment, etc.
- Carrying out new projects under the supervision of various team members.
The type of projects varies greatly, depending on the company’s activity and the candidate’s interest. Projects may involve a variety of sectors: hydraulics and renewable energies (two-phase flows for hydroelectricity, for example), industrial safety (fire simulations with combustion modeling) or health / biotechnologies (simulations of mixing in drug manufacturing processes, for example).
The numerical solvers to be used and matered are based on the finite volume method (ANSYS Fluent / OpenFoam software).

The following skills are required:
- Student at engineering school, generalist degree or degree specializing in Fluid Mechanics
- Good knowledge of numerical methods, CFD and fluid mechanics is essential.
- Knowledge of experimental techniques is a plus.
Your qualities include:
- Taste for teamwork,
- Thoroughness,
- Technical curiosity,
- autonomy,
- Synthesis skills,
- Organizational skills.
We offer you
At OptiFluides, you will benefit from a convivial and flexible working environment in which you can quickly take on responsibilities and be confronted with major industrial technical issues. The diversity of projects will enable you to continually develop your skills and stimulate your technical curiosity.
This internship is in line with the company’s development in the sectors described above (ENR, Biotechnologies…) and could lead to a job opening if the candidate is interested and the work performed meets the requirements of the job.
Full-time (35h/week), remuneration: €1,000 net per month, duration 6 months (start of internship in 1st semester 2025 – January, February or March depending on your training program).
