OptiFluides is an engineering consultancy specializing in Fluid Mechanics, based in Lyon – France.

From the design phase to failure analysis and optimization, from pre-sizing calculations to fundamental Research & Development, OptiFluides offers calculation and modeling services, relating to the numerical simulation of fluid flows and associated thermal, chemical and kinetic transfers. Our expertise covers a wide range of fields: aeraulics, aerodynamics, hydraulics, multiphysics, heat transfer and processes.

CFD consultancy in the Lyon area

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is often an abstruse language for the general public. Although the commercialization of software suites incorporating a CFD module has made it possible to extend the use of this tool in engineering, obtaining exploitable results is no less conditioned by a good theoretical knowledge of these concepts and software practices. CFD is a powerful and essential tool in many sectors, but successful implementation generally requires a high degree of rigor and advanced technical expertise.

From technical excellence to knowledge transfer

At OptiFluides, we’ve made CFD our core business. Above all, it’s our passion for physics, numerical methods and their industrial applications that drives us. Combined with the experience of the company’s 14 years of existence and the knowledge of our team of PhDs and engineers, this passion has led us to the technical excellence that is today our trademark.

High-quality engineering to guarantee the success of your projects. That’s our main mission. But aware of the competitive stakes in the industry, OptiFluides has also adopted responsiveness and confidentiality as its founding values.

Once the studies have been carried out, there remains the most important phase of our work: transmitting. It’s not just a question of delivering a result, we also want to help you understand the methods used, the physical phenomena involved and their modeling, so that you can see the problems you encounter with fresh eyes. The knowledge transfer and methodological transparency are therefore the final pillars of our philosophy.

Technopole and grey matter

50 innovative, high-tech companies are located on the Domaine Scientifique de la Doua. They employ 700 people, and most of them have close links with the site’s research laboratories.

The technopôle de la Doua is located in a particularly dynamic economic district of Villeurbanne. 1,122 companies are based here. 34% of them, or 381 companies, have strong technological potential, are investing and benefiting from innovation. The majority of these companies are involved in business services ( engineering firms, design consultancies…), software design, consulting, research and development. Half of them export their know-how internationally.

Living environment and access

Located on the edge of the Lyon-Villeurbanne metropolitan area, on a fringe rich in green spaces (Parc de la Tête d’Or, Coulée verte de la Feyssine), with an international vocation (Cité internationale, Interpol headquarters), the Domaine Scientifique de la Doua benefits from a dense network of communication routes (freeways to Paris, Geneva, Grenoble, Chambéry, Marseille ; Part-Dieu and St Exupéry TGV stations; motorway connections to St Exupéry airport and Bron business airport; tramway; high-speed ROCAD network… ).

Our team of experts in Computational Fluid Dynamics

In 2025, the OptiFluides team counts 5 CFD doctor-engineers and 1 design engineer, with an average of 10 years with the company. We put this know-how and experience at your disposal to support you in your industrial Fluid Mechanics projects and issues.
